Eveleigh Farmers’ Market
Eveleigh Market is an undercover, traditional, authentic weekly Saturday Farmers’ Market held in the city of Sydney.
The market is held on Saturdays, 8am to 1 pm, in the heritage-listed Eveleigh Market, Sydney’s only custom-renovated ‘rain, hail, shine’ market venue. The vast permanent market site is housed in the custom-renovated railway workshop at the heritage listed Eveleigh Railyards, a focal inner-city destination that also encompasses the emerging Carriageworks arts and cultural precinct, creating a core community facility of the major Redfern Waterloo urban renewal project.
Since the first official market on February 28th, 2009, the Eveleigh Market has grown in popularity and is now a favourite place to shop for weekly groceries. The protection of an undercover market place and the provision of an area dedicated to tables and seating, provides a relaxing environment to catch up with family and friends. Shoppers are coming from as far as the Central Coast, and the market is considered a must do for overseas and interstate visitors, wanting to sample local produce, and meet with NSW growers and producers.
The Market is home to over 80 regular stall holders featuring a vast array of seasonal fresh and value-added produce including organic, bio dynamic foods from farmers and artisan food producers across New South Wales.
Farm fresh produce includes seasonal fruit and vegetables, nuts, organic pasta, free-range pork, artisan cheese, other dairy foods, and baked goods and local wine growers.
Many people comment on the diversity, quality and affordability of produce especially the fruit and vegetables.
Some of our stallholders include Malfroys’ Gold Honey, Jannei Goats Curd, Micheal Champion’s Organic Produce, Parker’s Organic Juices, Mirrool Creek Lamb, Country Valley Dairy, Highland Gourmet Potatoes, Moorlands Biodynamic Lamb, Pasture Perfect Pork, Egganic, Kemps Creek Farms, Cargo Road Winery, Freeman Vineyards to name just a few.
An Authentic Farmers’ Market
The Eveleigh Market is proud to support such a diverse range of authentic stallholders.
The Market management exercises considerable care to ensure the principles of farmers’ markets are respected and upheld to provide consumers with authentic farm produce sold directly by food producers, or their family or farm staff. Collaborative ‘farm-share’ participation is also permitted whereby a group of neighbouring or district farmers choose to operate a joint stall.
